Wasps and hornets
Wasp and hornet nest removal in the GTA and Peel
A nest near an entrance, walkway or play area is an urgent safety concern. Same-day appointments are often available, and we’ll confirm the safest approach for the nest location and access.

What we remove
- Paper wasps. Open umbrella-shaped combs under eaves, soffits, deck rails, porch ceilings and inside BBQ lids.
- Yellowjackets. The aggressive ones. Wall voids, soffits, attics and underground burrows, and behind most late-summer stings.
- Bald-faced hornets. Big grey football-shaped paper nests in trees, on walls and under eaves. Very defensive.
- Carpenter bees. They bore neat round 12mm holes into fascia, deck rails and unpainted softwood.
About honey bees
We do not exterminate honey bee colonies. They are pollinators, and where it is practical a swarm should be moved by a beekeeper rather than killed. Send a photo and we will tell you honestly what you have. If it is honey bees we will point you to a local beekeeper. Most bee calls turn out to be yellowjackets or paper wasps, and those we do handle.
Why nest removal needs care
- Wasps can sting repeatedly. Disturbing an active nest can bring many workers out quickly, so keep people and pets away from the area.
- Ladders and defensive wasps are a dangerous combination. Do not attempt a nest that requires climbing or puts you close to an active entrance.
- Surface sprays may miss the colony. Nests inside soffits, walls or ground voids need a method suited to the location.
- Sealing the entrance is the classic mistake. Wasps trapped in a wall void chew inward and come out inside your living room.
How we do it
- Identify the nest. A ground yellowjacket nest, a soffit void nest and an exposed paper wasp comb all need different handling.
- Treat or remove the nest with appropriate protective and extension equipment, based on its location and construction.
- Treat inside the void for nests in soffits, walls and attics, leaving the entrance open until activity stops.
- Seal the entry once activity ends, so the same cavity is not used again next season.
When to call
Nests are generally easier to address earlier in the season, before populations peak. If a nest is near an entrance, walkway or play area, keep clear and call promptly. If anyone is stung and shows signs of a serious allergic reaction, call 911.
Before we arrive
- Keep everyone away from the area
- Close nearby windows
- Bring pets inside
- Do not spray it or throw anything at it
